Compassion and a strong moral compass are essential pillars of any democratic society. However, persecution, injustice, and abuse continue to threaten social cohesion and undermine the foundations of peaceful communities. In response to these challenges, Sebelas Maret University (UNS) commits itself to supporting Sustainable Development Goal (SDG) 16  Peace, Justice, and Strong Institutions through education, research, and community engagement.

UNS integrates values of justice, human rights, and good governance into its academic programs, especially within faculties such as Law, Social and Political Sciences, and Public Administration. Through these programs, students are equipped with the knowledge and skills to promote fairness, uphold human dignity, and contribute to building effective, transparent, and accountable institutions.

Research at UNS also addresses issues related to governance, conflict resolution, human rights protection, and legal reforms. These efforts contribute to formulating policies and practices that strengthen institutions and promote justice at local and national levels.
