6.2.1 Measure the total volume of water used in the university that is taken from mains supply, desalinated, or extracted from rivers, lakes, or aquifers
Water Usage Measurement and Management
Universitas Sebelas Maret (UNS) actively measures the total volume of water used on campus, encompassing water sourced from various sources, including the mains supply (PDAM), groundwater, and treated water. Water needs at UNS are met through these three main sources, with PDAM water accounting for 64.4% of the total water used within the university area.
In 2024, the total volume of clean water used across Universitas Sebelas Maret (UNS) reached 94,092 m³ per year, sourced from both PDAM and groundwater. With a campus population exceeding 30,000, the average daily water consumption per person is approximately 15 liters (equivalent to about 5.5 m³ per year). The detailed distribution of water use across faculties and work units is shown in the following table:
Faculty/Unit | Water Consumption (m³/year) |
Faculty of Cultural Sciences | 1,817 |
Faculty of Law | 2,650 |
Faculty of Social and Political Sciences | 3,324 |
Faculty of Teacher Training and Education | 17,411 |
Faculty of Economics and Business | 4,542 |
Faculty of Engineering | 5,450 |
Faculty of Medicine | 6,965 |
Faculty of Agriculture | 4,845 |
Faculty of Mathematics and Natural Sciences | 2,165 |
Faculty of Fine Arts and Design | 2,271 |
