Energy Wastage Assessment and Optimization

Identifying energy wastage through energy reviews is a crucial step in advancing the achievement of Sustainable Development Goal (SDG) 7: Affordable and Clean Energy. In 2024, Universitas Sebelas Maret (UNS) conducted comprehensive energy reviews to identify areas with the highest levels of energy wastage as part of its ongoing commitment to strengthen its role as a sustainable and environmentally responsible university. Through these assessments, UNS identified inefficiencies in several campus facilities, with the findings guiding the university in implementing targeted measures, including the gradual replacement of conventional devices with energy-efficient alternatives, the expansion of renewable energy installations, and the adoption of smarter energy management practices.

RELEVANT RESEARCH

In 2024, UNS provided research and community service funding with a focus on SDG 7 topics to achieve SDG 7: Ensure access to affordable, reliable, sustainable, and modern energy for all. Through ”Analisa Teknis Sistem Optimalisasi Efisiensi Konversi Energi Terbarukan”, Dr. Wibawa Endra Juwana helped identify areas of highest energy waste, allowing for the planning of improvement measures.
