11.2.1 Public Access to Buildings
Universitas Sebelas Maret (UNS) is committed to arts, heritage, and sustainability, striving to create a sustainable environment by providing free access to buildings with cultural value, green spaces, and by promoting environmentally friendly, inclusive, and sustainable local arts. UNS’s dedication to environmentally conscious practices, accessible public spaces that can be reached by the general public, and inclusivity reflects its efforts to achieve SDG 11 and to serve as a model for a sustainable living and working environment.

- G.P.H. Haryo Mataram Auditorium UNS
The GPH Haryo Mataram UNS Auditorium is located behind the Dr. Prakosa Building, UNS Headquarters. The UNS Auditorium is not only the center of academic activities, but also functions as an open space for students and the wider community to hold various events. The UNS auditorium serves as a means of integration between the campus and the community, supporting the creation of an inclusive learning environment and strengthening the university’s contribution to sustainable development. Those wishing to use the hall are charged a rental fee and need to coordinate with the person in charge of the venue.
- UNS Tower
UNS Tower is an 11-story building owned by UNS located in the UNS Campus area, precisely on Jl. Ir. Sutami, Jebres, Surakarta. UNS Tower functions as a Hotel & MICE Building. UNS Tower has various facilities and services offered. Currently, UNS Tower has at least 27 hotel rooms with four-star standards. In addition to the hotel, there are other facilities and services including a restaurant, swimming pool, fitness center, banking office, ballroom, and meeting rooms of various sizes. All facilities and services at UNS Tower are also supported by professional and experienced staff who are ready to provide excellent service. The public and students can enjoy facilities such as a hall, swimming pool, and fitness center by paying a fee according to the provisions made by UNS Tower. In addition, the public can enjoy free banking services on the first floor of UNS Tower
- UNS Inn
UNS Inn is one of the supporting facilities owned by UNS, functioning both as accommodation and as a center for events. In addition to serving the accommodation needs of university guests, lecturers, and students, UNS Inn is frequently used as a venue for events organized by students and the wider community. People can enjoy the hotel rooms and facilities by renting rooms or halls at a fee determined by the hotel.
- UNS Hospital
UNS Hospital is located at Jl. A. Yani No. 200, Dusun II, Makamhaji, Kartasura District, Sukoharjo Regency. UNS Hospital serves the general public and students as a center for education, research, and integrated health services. This hospital is a major teaching hospital that carries out these functions while providing health services to the public, including outpatient, inpatient, and emergency services. The general public can use the existing facilities at a fee determined by the hospital. In addition, they can also pay hospital fees using a health card provided by the government.
- UNS Javanology
Javanology is located at Jl Ir. Sutami 36 A Kentingan, Jebres Subdistrict, Surakarta City. Javanology is also a hope to provide access and a bridge for future generations who are becoming increasingly distant from Javanese cultural products, both ideofacts and artifacts. Ignorance is the root of the erosion of cultural resilience, thus knowledge becomes the starting point. Marginalized local cultures are often considered interesting by outsiders as research material, viewed through the logic of conservation based on compassion and concern over their potential disappearance and extinction. The public can use the Javanologi pavilion by paying a rental fee by filling out the reservation page first.
UNS Stadium
UNS Stadium is one of the facilities at UNS, and is open to all UNS students. It is located on the UNS Central Campus, near the back gate. Students frequently use the stadium for sports such as running and other activities. It is also frequently used as a training ground for the Persis Solo club. Furthermore, UNS Stadium is also listed as an alternative training ground for the 2021 U-20 World Cup. Recently, UNS Stadium was also used as a venue for the 2022 Asian Para Games football matches held in Surakarta. The stadium can also be rented for sports team training, subject to a rental fee.
- UNS Sports Arena (GOR)
The UNS Sports Hall is one of the sports areas at UNS. This space is available for students to participate in sports activities, particularly indoor sports. It can also be used for sports competitions such as futsal, basketball, volleyball, and others. To be able to use GOR UNS you need an entrance ticket and there is a fee for that. The public can rent the place for sports activities at a cost determined by the person in charge of the place.

- UNS Library
The UNS Central Library is a primary academic facility that serves not only students and faculty but also provides access to external parties in various capacities. The library plays a strategic role in developing superior human resources, therefore the quality of its services and facilities must consistently meet national standards. The UNS Library’s efforts are a clear demonstration of its dedication to improving the quality of education. Students can visit the library free of charge by showing their student ID to obtain a locker. There is also a workspace located on the left wing of the library, which does not require a student ID.
Places of Worship
UNS provides various inclusive places of worship open to the entire academic community (students, lecturers, staff) and the general public. The presence of six places of worship on campus reflects UNS’s commitment to religious tolerance and easy spiritual access for all. UNS is the first campus to have six places of worship: a mosque, a Christian church, a Catholic church, a temple, a Buddhist monastery, and a Chinese temple. These places are open to the public for worship purposes. If you wish to use the buildings for an event, please coordinate with the designated person for the building to obtain a permit.

- UNS Medical Center
UNS Medical Center is located at Jl. Ir. Sutami No.36A, Jebres Subdistrict, Surakarta City. As a manifestation of its concern for student health, UNS established the UNS Medical Center. The medical center is staffed by doctors and medical professionals who are also lecturers at the Faculty of Medicine. The Medical Center not only serves the UNS academic community but also provides health check-ups for local residents as a form of community service. Students who are unwell can seek treatment at the center, receive medical prescriptions, and obtain medicine at an affordable cost. UNS students can undergo free examinations by showing their student card.

- Auditorium of Faculty of Teacher Training and Education (FKIP) UNS
The Auditorium of Faculty of Teacher Training and Education (FKIP) at UNS is one of the campus facilities that functions as a multipurpose space and can be accessed by both students and the general public. This auditorium is not only used for academic activities such as seminars, workshops, public lectures, and thesis defenses, but also serves as a venue for various student and social events. For student activities, students can borrow the hall space free of charge, but a series of permits are required to use it. The general public can also use it.
- UNS Bookstore
The UNS Bookstore is located on the first floor of the PUSDIKLAT Building and is one of the facilities owned by UNS to support the development of literacy and the dissemination of knowledge. This bookstore not only serves the needs of students, lecturers, and the academic community but is also open to the general public who wish to obtain various types of books, including academic works, textbooks, and popular readings. Students can purchase these books at very affordable prices.
Faculty Buildings at UNS
A continued commitment to developing services and an academic community ready to welcome young Indonesians from various regions. Infrastructure services, such as learning buildings, are provided to prepare the nation’s next generation to carry out teaching and learning activities effectively and conducively. The public can access faculty buildings free of charge during operating hours. UNS has 14 faculties, one Vocational School building, and one Postgraduate building.
- Faculty of Cultural Sciences Building
Faculty of Cultural Sciences at UNS is an educational institution that develops language, literature, and cultural studies through various study programs. The Faculty of Cultural Sciences (FIB) at UNS has facilities such as seminar rooms, courtrooms, and facilities for the disabled, as well as providing space for academic and non-academic activities. These facilities are used for lectures, seminars, art performances, graduation ceremonies, and coordination meetings.
- Faculty of Law Building
The Faculty of Law (FH) UNS provides various academic and student support facilities, including airconditioned classrooms, computer and video conferencing laboratories, and practical facilities such as an international courtroom and a Court Garden for moot court. In addition, other supporting facilities include a multi-purpose sports field, a large parking area, a garden, a canteen, and Wi-Fi throughout the faculty area.

- Faculty of Engineering Building
The Faculty of Engineering (FT) at UNS offers facilities such as air-conditioned classrooms with LCD projectors, research and educational laboratories (e.g., the Production Systems Lab and the Ergonomics Lab in Industrial Engineering), communal spaces, and a library integrated with UNS systems. The campus also provides facilities for people with disabilities, such as ramps in buildings and sidewalks, as well as dedicated parking for wheelchair users.

Faculty of Economics and Business UNS has five buildings consisting of office space (Dean’s Office, departments, administration, lecturer rooms), lecture rooms equipped with air conditioning and LCD projectors, as well as a computer laboratory with 180 computers connected to the intranet and internet and equipped with statistical software such as SPSS and Eviews.

The Faculty of Fine Arts and Design (FSRD) at UNS boasts laboratory facilities such as an Animation Lab, Audio Visual Lab, Photography Lab, Painting Studio, Ceramics Studio, and Batik Lab to support various student practical activities. These facilities include computers, LCD projectors, photography equipment, printing machines, ceramic kilns, and practical batik equipment such as stoves and canting (canting).
