Internal Reporting and Whistleblowing System at UNS

Universitas Sebelas Maret (UNS) has established a formal internal reporting and whistleblowing system to ensure accountability, transparency, and ethical governance across the institution. This system is managed by the Internal Audit Unit (Satuan Pengawas Internal/SPI), which serves as the designated body responsible for receiving and handling reports related to misconduct, abuse of authority, and violations of institutional regulations.

UNS provides multiple accessible reporting channels to facilitate safe, inclusive reporting by staff, faculty, students, and external stakeholders.

Complaints can be submitted directly via:

The full reporting procedure is publicly available through the PPID UNS portal:

The complaint-handling mechanism follows a structured, institutionalized process, including the submission of reports, verification of evidence, review by SPI leadership, delegation to relevant units, and continuous monitoring and evaluation. The process also ensures that the outcome of the complaint is communicated back to the complainant, reinforcing transparency and accountability.

While the publicly available procedure primarily outlines the reporting workflow, all submissions are handled internally by the authorized SPI personnel, which inherently limits access to reports and supports the confidentiality of whistleblowers. Reports are reviewed only by designated officials and processed through formal institutional channels, reducing the risk of unauthorized disclosure.

This reporting mechanism also serves as a grievance pathway for staff regarding workplace-related issues, particularly cases involving abuse of authority, unethical conduct, or actions that negatively affect the working environment. By providing a formal, accessible, and structured reporting system, UNS demonstrates its commitment to protecting reporting individuals, maintaining confidentiality, and fostering a culture of integrity within the university.
