Promoting Conscious Water Usage on Campus

In support of SDG 6, particularly on promoting conscious water usage on campus, Universitas Sebelas Maret (UNS) launched the “Hemat Air UNS” campaign through various platforms, including Instagram. During World Water Day 2025, KMIT FP UNS encouraged all members of the UNS community to take simple yet meaningful actions, such as turning off taps when not in use, harvesting rainwater, preventing water pollution by avoiding careless waste disposal, and engaging in environmental conservation to enhance water catchment areas.

In addition, UNS actively placed posters and stickers promoting water-saving practices throughout the campus, including toilets, ablution areas, and washbasins, to serve as constant reminders for responsible water usage.

Initial results of the campaign indicate that it has successfully engaged the campus community, raising awareness among students, faculty, and staff. Participants have reported adopting water-conscious habits in daily activities, and the campaign has stimulated discussions about sustainable water management across various campus groups.

Through these initiatives, UNS demonstrates a tangible, campus-wide commitment to promoting conscious water usage and fostering a culture of responsible water management that endures.
