3.3.4 Sexual and Reproductive Health Care Services for Students

UNS Provides Free Access to Sexual and Reproductive Health Services for Students

Universitas Sebelas Maret (UNS) is committed to supporting the health and well-being of its students by providing accessible and affordable sexual and reproductive health services. To achieve this goal, UNS offers various programs and facilities that provide information, education, and counseling to students and adolescents in the surrounding community. These initiatives align with SDG 3 principles, ensuring access to quality and inclusive health services.

  • Satgas PPKS – Sexual Violence Prevention and Response Task Force

Universitas Sebelas Maret (UNS), through the Sexual Violence Prevention and Response Task Force (Satgas PPKS), offers free access to sexual and reproductive health services to students and the broader academic community. Services include confidential information, education, and guidance on sexual and reproductive health issues.

Through the official Satgas PPKS website (satgasppk.uns.ac.id), students can report suspected cases of sexual violence safely and easily via an online procedure. This service is free, confidential, and inclusive, offering psychological, legal, and recovery support for survivors without discrimination. UNS ensures that every student has the right to a healthy, safe, and violence-free learning environment.

In addition to the reporting mechanism, Satgas PPKS provides a range of educational materials and awareness programs on reproductive health, social ethics, and the prevention of sexual violence. These efforts demonstrate UNS’s commitment to students’ physical and mental well-being, while promoting collective awareness of the importance of respecting boundaries and personal safety in the academic environment.

Through these initiatives, UNS reinforces its role as a university that not only focuses on academics but also guarantees the health and well-being of all its members. By providing services through Satgas PPKS, UNS emphasizes its commitment to creating a safe, inclusive, and supportive campus that promotes sexual and reproductive health in line with SDG 3:

  • PIK-R Cakra – Youth Information and Counseling Center

PIK-R Cakra UNS is a student-managed center that provides free access to information and counseling on sexual and reproductive health for adolescents. Officially part of UNS’s Student Activity Units (UKM) since 2018, PIK-R Cakra actively implements the Generasi Berencana (GENRE) program to guide youth in family life planning, preventing premarital sexual activity, avoiding HIV/AIDS, and abstaining from substance abuse (NAPZA).

Services at PIK-R Cakra include counseling, life skills training, and educational activities designed to help adolescents understand reproductive health, make informed decisions, and develop personal skills in a safe and supportive environment. By offering accessible and evidence-based guidance, PIK-R Cakra ensures that students and adolescents have the knowledge and support needed for healthy sexual and reproductive development.
