Disability Support Office at UNS

Universitas Sebelas Maret (UNS) has established a formally recognized Disability Support Office to ensure equitable access, inclusion, and academic success for students with disabilities. This function is primarily carried out by the Student Disability Services Unit (Layanan Disabilitas Mahasiswa/LDM) under the Subdirectorate of Counseling and Student Disability Services (Subdit LKDM) of the Directorate of Student Affairs.

In accordance with Rector Regulation No. 14 of 2025, all operational services for students with disabilities previously managed by the Center for Disability Studies (Pusat Studi Difabilitas/PSD LPPM UNS) have been formally transferred to LDM. This institutional arrangement ensures that disability support is directly embedded within the university’s student services system.

Institutional Framework

UNS adopts a collaborative and integrated model involving two complementary units:

  • Student Disability Services (LDM), Subdit LKDM – Directorate of Student Affairs

Functions as the primary Disability Support Office, responsible for direct service delivery, academic accommodations, and student support.

  • Pusat Studi Difabilitas LPPM UNS

Functions as a research, innovation, and expert support hub, focusing on disability studies, community engagement, and policy development.

This dual structure ensures that disability services at UNS are both operationally effective and academically grounded, supported by research, multidisciplinary expertise, and institutional collaboration.
